1. Make sure you selected a right video format for conversion. If you want to watch a video in Windows Media Player, please see this list of Windows Media Player supported formats here. We recommend converting videos to these output formats for further playback in Windows Media Player: AVI or WMV with "Same as source" settings.
2. Please note that earlier versions of Windows Media Player can't play MP4 (MPEG4) format. Only Windows Media Player 12 supports .MP4 files.
If you want to know what version of Windows Media Player you have, start Windows Media Player, press ALT + H on your keyboard, click Help in the drop-down menu, click "About" and see the numbers under the Copyright notice. Then compare these numbers here and see what Windows Media Player version you have.
3. MPEG2 files & DVD files are not supported by Windows Media Player unless a special plugin is purchased (see more info above in the list of supported formats).
