2) TO AVI, WMV, MP4 or other video formats
Unlike with DVD case, Freemake Video Converter doesn't have a special button to change aspect ratio when converting videos to AVI, WMV, MP4 or other video formats. But you can make custom preset to tweak aspect ratio. Let's see the sample below.
1. Download and install the newest version of Freemake Video Converter. Download it here
2. Add your video using "+Video" button.
3. Click any format that you need. For example, click "to AVI" button.
4. Click blue "Wheel" sign or "Plus" sign to creeate a custom preset for video conversion.
5. Click "Frame Size" and select "Custom" instead of "Original".
6. Than delete the numbers in Width and Height boxes.
7. Calculate aspect ratio using special formula. For example, if your original video Width and Height settings were 320x240 video where 320 is width and 240 is height, then recalculate a new width for 16:9 video. 240x16/9=427. Set "427" as Width and "240" as Height for getting 16:9 aspect ratio instead of 4:3.
8. Don't change other settings and click "OK".
9. Make sure that after the changes preset name is "Custom".
10. Click "Convert" button to convert your video with new aspect ratio.
